Jeff
Fessenden
has painted and illustrated in many different styles.
Watercolor, oil, pen and ink and acrylic have all been used
depending on the needs of the project.
In the 80's he
created over a hundred humorous themed cards, some of which can be
found on this site.
Trompe L'oeil has
become a specialty of Jeff Fessenden and Fessenden Studios, Inc.,
and for fifteen years has been offered to Naples area residential
and commercial customers. A Rhode Island School of Design
trained illustrator, Jeff specialized in architectural illustrations
for the first seven years of his free-lance career, a skill that has
served him well in the Trompe L'oeil market.
People hire me
for my eye, Jeff says, "for my ability to bring an often complex
image into a special setting, and it involves making adjustments to
the artwork as its' being painted. There are so many ways
these things can go south, and the inexperienced artist can get lost
in the variables. I have been serving a very select clientele
for years now, famous authors, the captains of America's industry,
and they've been to Europe and have seen the grand work, and they
want the same for their homes here. They come to me because
they want it done right; they don't want to paint it over. I
do a lot of research, and I take pride in being able to replicate a
lot of different styles of art."
It's the pure
joy of painting that keeps Jeff at it. "I love what I do, and
I love the unique challenge of each job. The variety of
subject matter always keeps me piqued."
In addition to he
his artistic skills, Jeff is an accomplished musician, he sings and
plays the guitar. He was a a member of the Starlight
Band, a group that toured the country in the late 60's and 70's
Jeff
resides in Naples Florida with his wife and daughter.
